Our team offers expertise in composite patching and overlay technology for repair and reinforcement of damaged structures and pipes using composite materials. The method features application of carbon and glass fibres mixed with epoxy resin/adhesive onto damaged surface. By curing, the resin hardens and permanently bonds to the surface, impregnating also the fibres that reinstate the strength of the damaged part. Finally, this effectively creates a solid new layer of material that provides full water tightness.

as2con has been awarded a €0,6 million grant from the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 innovation and research programme (SME Instrument Phase 2) for COMPA repair technology. The two-year project «COMPA 2GO - Composite Repairs for Ships: Service Demonstration, Certification and Market Entry» started in the beginning of March 2018. The grant will help as2con to demonstrate the quality of COMPA technology through laboratory and onboard tests, to receive certificates from major maritime classification societies and finally, to license the technology.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 806018.
as2con won a Horizon 2020 SME Instrument Phase 1 grant for further developments and market study of COMPA repair and reinforcement solutions. We thank European Commission for recognising the excellence, the impact and the relevance of the developed innovative solution for the maritime transport.
